Dr Mark Hamer

Biography

Dr Hamer teaches Exercise and Health for the MSc in Sports Medicine (UCL Department of Physiology) and MSc in Health Psychology (UCL Department of Epidemiology & Public Health).

He is interested in physical activity behaviour, mental health and cardiovascular disease prevention. Dr Hamer utilises data from several large scale epidemiological studies, including Whitehall II, English Longitudinal Study of Ageing and Health Survey for England. He aims to understand the behavioural and pathophysiological processes that underlie the association between stress and CVD.

In addition he is interested in psychobiological effects of physical activity and sedentary behaviour.
