Biography
Dr Maurice Pye is a Consultant Cardiologist with over 20 years of experience at York Hospital, where he serves as Senior Cardiologist and Lead Clinician for Cardiology. Trained in General Medicine in Cardiff and Manchester, he completed his Cardiology training at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and St George’s Hospital, London, earning an MD with Distinction in 1992.
Dr Pye specialises in adult cardiology, including coronary and ischaemic heart disease, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, and heart failure. His expertise covers angioplasty, stenting, pacemakers, and advanced cardiac imaging. Passionate about patient care, he tailors treatments to individual needs, combining evidence-based practice with the latest techniques.
A member of leading cardiovascular societies, Dr Pye also chairs the Yorkshire Regional Cardiology Consultant Group and the Resuscitation Committee. He maintains a private practice at Nuffield Hospital, delivering personalised care.
