Seth Rankin

Co-founder & CEO, London Medical Laboratory

Dr. Seth Rankin is an experienced GP, and founder and chairman of the London Medical Laboratory, an independent clinical testing specialist and provider of pathology diagnostics services to clients across the healthcare sector.

Seth has extensive experience in the NHS and in private healthcare. After years spent working in international medical assistance, he became a managing partner of a large and diverse London NHS primary care practice with over 16,000 patients. He also was a founding member of the local Commissioning Group responsible for funding both primary and secondary healthcare. In his capacity as a Commissioner he played leading roles in developing hour-long consultations for patients with complex comorbidities, and an innovative project to integrate health and social care.

Dr. Rankin also successfully founded and exited several private healthcare businesses, including the London Doctors Clinic, a rapidly growing chain of private GP clinics in central London, which provide people with convenient, and affordable healthcare, and complement the NHS services.

Seth has significant international experience and a good knowledge of comparative healthcare systems. He did his primary medical degree and early residency in New Zealand before working in general practice in Australia. He then worked and travelled extensively for an international medical assistance company before returning to general practice, and obtaining his MRCGP in London.

His special interest is in weight management, and he was the clinical lead on a NHS project, to provide advice and support on healthy living and wellbeing.
